Top 8 Radiology Tech Programs: Career Guide & Online Courses

Radiology Tech Programs: Prepare for a career in radiologic technology with this two-year, full-time degree program. You develop the skills and necessary knowledge. It is for qualifying or getting into the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) exam and become a registered radiologic technologist.

After completing the program and passing your qualifying exam, you will be able to explore career opportunities in radiology tech in various healthcare settings. Such as hospitals, clinics, and specialized imaging centers.

This full-time, 70-credit degree program prepares radiologists to produce X-ray images of human body parts intended to diagnose medical problems. Additional duties also include processing images, evaluating the radiology equipment, and providing patient care and relevant education.

The program provides clinical and classroom instruction in anatomy and physiology, radiobiology, pathology, medical imaging and treatments, radio physics, patient positioning, patient care procedures, radiation safety, and medical ethics.

What is a Radiology Tech School?

In a radiology tech school, students delve into the intricate world of medical imaging, mastering the skills and knowledge essential for operating cutting-edge equipment. Also, for providing crucial diagnostic support to healthcare teams.

Radiologists work in healthcare settings, including hospitals and clinics, specialized imaging centers, urgent care clinics, doctors’ offices, and government offices. Some radiologists work in educational institutions and in industry.

Due to the nature of the clinical experiences and individualized instruction in this program, as well as the specialized technology and equipment necessary to deliver this program, a higher tuition rate is assessed for specific career courses.

These include courses with the RAD prefix. For the fall 2024 and spring 2025 semesters, students will pay regular tuition and the university will fund the differential portion of the tuition. Beginning with the summer 2024 semester, students will pay full differential tuition, which is 1.5 times the regular tuition rate.
